Bowles Cares Blog

Last month, several attorneys and staff members volunteered their time at Edgewood Elementary School to spend some one-on-one time helping kids with their reading skills. Bowles Cares volunteers pictured left to right are Donna Easterling, Legal Secretary; Carrie Gasaway, Legal Secretary; and Terrie Workman, Administrative Assistant. In this program, students were able to meet with the volunteers during their lunch time. 

Team organizer, Gabriele Wohl, said "The kids at Edgewood were so eager to spend time with us, tell us about their lives, read stories, and ask us hilarious questions. You could tell they felt special getting one-on-one time with grown-ups during lunch. It was easily the best part of my day." 

According to Gabriele, Principal Bridgette and the Edgewood staff were thrilled and so grateful to have members of the community taking an interest in their students and helping with reading skills. She said the school even wants to replicate this program all year.
