Successful Defense of Multinational Agrochemical Company
Bowles Rice served as lead counsel in the successful defense of a multinational agricultural and agrochemical company in a case involving approximately 180 individual, personal injury lawsuits.
The lawsuits were brought against the company by employees and former employees who alleged that they had developed systematic health problems, including skin conditions, heart disease, neuropathies, psychiatric problems, sexual dysfunction and various cancers, as a result of exposures to chemicals used and manufactured at the West Virginia plant where they worked. Seven test cases went to trial over an 11-month period. Following a defense verdict on almost all counts, the remaining cases were dismissed with prejudice.
