Tom Weiers is a member of the Construction team. He practices from the Canonsburg, Pennsylvania office.
Tom has experience in representing general contractors, subcontractors, and project owners in litigation and as general counsel for construction related matters. He regularly represents building and utility contractors to recover contract balances, costs for change orders, extra and additional work, delay, disruption and acceleration costs together with interest, penalty interest and attorneys’ fees under applicable contractor payment laws. Tom has experience in filing mechanic’s liens and payment bond claims, and he represents developers and owners with construction dispute claims and has acted as special construction counsel for school districts.
In addition to his Construction Law practice, he practices employment and labor law, including defending EEOC matters. He also has experience in stock and asset purchase transactions.
Tom regularly lectures for the Associated Builders and Contractors and the Pennsylvania Utility Contractor Association on a variety of topics including, claims for change orders and extra and additional work; construction contract drafting and formation; contract breach and contract damages; and delay, disruption, and acceleration claims, just to name a few.
